Commissions
I take on a select number of commissions each year. The projects I'm most drawn to are large in scale: statement paintings and site-specific murals for new builds, renovations and homes that want a piece with real presence. I work with homeowners, architects, interior designers and builders, and the best results come from bringing me in early, while the walls and the light are still being planned.
Range
Alongside large-scale painting I work in charcoal, drawing, watercolor and mixed media, from intimate works on paper to full walls. Subjects include Western life, horses, landscape, portraiture and the figure. If you have a particular style or direction in mind, I'm happy to share examples of work I've made in that vein before we begin.
How a commission works
- Inquiry. Tell me about the space, the scale you're imagining, your timeline and budget. Photos of the room, floor plans or renderings are all helpful.
- Consultation. We talk through the room, the light, the palette and what you want the work to hold. I'll share relevant past work so you can see the range, and you're welcome to visit the Atelier in Downtown Los Angeles to see paintings at full scale.
- Proposal. I send a written proposal covering direction, dimensions, materials, investment and timeline, with reference images or a preliminary sketch so you can see where the piece is headed.
- Agreement & deposit. Once you approve the proposal, we sign a simple commission agreement. A deposit of at least 50% secures your place on the studio calendar and the work begins.
- In the studio. I share progress photos at key stages, so you see the work develop rather than waiting on a reveal.
- Final payment & delivery. The remaining balance is due before the finished work ships. Installation is not included; in some cases it can be arranged for an additional fee. Murals are painted on site, scheduled around your build.
You're commissioning a direction you've seen and approved, carried out with the energy that makes the work mine.
For homeowners, designers, architects & builders
Work sized for the room it's going into.
Statement paintings
Large-scale originals on canvas for entries, great rooms and double-height walls, developed around the architecture, light and palette of the space.
Murals
Site-specific murals for homes, new builds and businesses, painted on site. My live horse mural at DTLA Art Night covered a 21-foot wall in about three hours. Residential murals start at $3,500; corporate and commercial murals start at $10,000.
Trade resources
Portfolio PDF, availability and price list, high-resolution images and CV for designers, architects and advisors on request.
